The Safe Source offers students a safe, comfortable, well-lit waiting area during pub nights. Students are offered access to phone for taxi and ride service, water, condoms, and the presence of calm, sober staff members. It is the intent of Safe Source to provide an extra layer of safety at York University for students participating in pub nights. The Safe Source has recently expanded to visit various pubs on campus. Each Thursday from approximately 9:30pm to 12:30am our Safe Source volunteers travel from pub to pub with helpful information, activities, and resources on responsible drinking. The Safe Source crew may also be present at other events, not just on pub nights.
